UNILAG Student Shares How NELFUND Saved His Education
A 300-level student of the University of Lagos, Migwe Obinna Nicholas, has shared how the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, known as NELFUND, saved him from dropping out of school. Nicholas, who is studying Theatre Arts and Film Studies, said he is the first member of his family to gain admission into a university. According to him, he currently lives in his local church after leaving his sister's home due to family disagreements and has no personal accommodation. The student explained that he grew up in a poor family in Ebonyi State before relocating to Lagos as a child to live with his elder sister. He said he was later asked to leave the family home after gaining admission into the University of Lagos because his brother-in-law wanted him to abandon his education and join the family business.
