 Police Inspector, Others Die in Multiple-Truck Crash on Lagos–Ibadan Expressway At least four persons were feared dead while several others sustained injuries in a multiple-vehicle crash involving five articulated trucks on Kara Bridge, inward Mowe, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday. A police inspector attached to the Lagos State Police Command was said to be among the victims. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, who confirmed the incident on Thursday during a visit to the scene, said emergency response teams worked through the early hours to rescue victims and clear the wreckage. Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the police were on the scene to control traffic and evacuate the victims.  South African man burns his wife and two children to d8ath before taking poison The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mpumalanga have opened a m8rder and inquest investigation following the discovery of three charred remains inside a burnt-out vehicle.    The vehicle was discovered in the early hours of on Friday, 24 October 2025, in the Boekehouthoek area near Kwaggafontein.   According to police spokesperson Jabu Ndubane, the bodies are believed to be those of a 32-year-old woman, identified as Lucia Thembisile Mahiyane and her two children, Bokamoso and Karabo Ngele, aged 7 and 4.    The suspect, aged 37, allegedly admitted to his uncle that he had k!lled his wife and children by setting them alight inside the vehicle at the Zithabiseni Bridge area.  Upon receiving the tip-off, police located the suspect at his grandparents’ home in Boekehouthoek.   He was foaming at the mouth and an ambulance was called, but he d!ed at the scene.  ...

  Five pregnant Ondo girls rescued from baby factory, owner arrested The Ondo State Police Command on Sunday said it had arrested one Ada Clement for allegedly operating a baby factory in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.. According to the Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Olayinka Ayanlade , in a statement, the men of the command rescued five pregnant underage girls found in the illegal facility.. The police said the suspect sold babies sold N400,000 and above for female children, and N600,000 and above for male children, adding that one of the victims was delivered of a baby boy in the facility.  Police Rearrest Omoyele Sowore in Abuja Over Alleged Violation of Court Order Prominent human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore , has been rearrested by the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja, just moments after being granted bail by the Kuje Magistrate Court. According to reports, Sowore had appeared in court on charges related to a recent protest in support of the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. The court had earlier granted him bail in the sum of ₦500,000 with certain conditions, which he reportedly met. However, shortly after his release, operatives of the police moved in and rearrested him , citing a fresh allegation of disobeying a court order by leading protesters into a restricted area within the Federal Capital Territory. A Magistrate’s Court in Kuje, Abuja, on Friday granted bail to publisher and activist Omoyele Sowore; Aloy Ejimakor, a member of the legal team representing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu; the IPOB leader’s brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu; and ten others, in the sum of ₦500,000, with two sureties in like sum. While Ejimakor, Emmanuel and the other ten defendants were arrested during the protest and later remanded at the Kuje Correctional facility, Sowore was apprehended on October 23 at the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja after attending Kanu’s terrorism trial to show solidarity.
