We Need the Party Ticket for Aba North and South — Aba Ngwa Stakeholders Shake Abia Politics with Fresh 2027 Ultimatum
Aba Ngwa Group Demands Local Representation for Federal House Ticket
Fresh political tension is brewing in Abia South as Aba Ngwa stakeholders have issued a direct ultimatum to all political parties ahead of 2027.
In a press release on Thursday, Aba Ngwa stakeholders demanded that all parties must field only candidates from Aba North or Aba South for the Senate and House of Reps seats in 2027, declaring that the era of marginalization is over.
The group, made up of concerned stakeholders and residents, insisted that the ticket for the Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency should be given to an indigene of Aba who understands the needs and challenges of the people.
Speaking during the visit, representatives of the group emphasized that the constituency deserves a candidate who is deeply rooted in the community and committed to effective representation at the National Assembly. They argued that selecting a non-local candidate would undermine the interests of Aba residents.
The protesters maintained that their demand is not only about political fairness but also about ensuring that the voices of Aba North and South are adequately represented at the federal level. They urged the APC leadership to prioritize competence, grassroots connection, and local identity in choosing its candidate.
As of the time of reporting, there has been no official response from the APC chairman regarding the demands. However, the development highlights growing tensions and expectations ahead of the party’s decision on its candidate for the upcoming elections.
