  Tinubu nominates ex-CDS Christopher Musa defence minister President Bola Tinubu has nominated a former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, as the new Minister of Defence. The nomination was contained in a letter sent to Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday, announcing Musa as the replacement for Alhaji Mohammed Badaru, who resigned from the position on Monday due to health reasons. In his letter to the Senate, the President expressed confidence in Musa’s capacity to lead the Defence Ministry and strengthen Nigeria’s security framework. The nomination was confirmed in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.  Seven construction workers rescued as building collapses in Bauchi Seven workers were trapped when an uncompleted storey building collapsed in the Bauchi metropolis.    The building located on Sir Kashim Ibrahim Street collapsed  around 3pm on Monday, December 1, 2025,  causing panic among residents and passersby.   The Deputy Director of the Bauchi State Fire Service, Dauda Pali, who confirmed the incident said the agency received a distress call and immediately deployed personnel to the scene.   “We received a distress call at around 3pm that a building has collapsed at Sir Kashim Ibrahim Street, GRA Bauchi. Rushing to the scene, we confirmed the incident and swiftly began a rescue operation,” he said.   Pali revealed that all seven trapped workers were rescued alive and taken to the hospital for medical attention.   He added that further investigations would be conducted to ascertain the cause of the collapse and urged construction firms ...
