The Soldier's Reaction Is The Courage of A Disciplined Soldier" - Army Bosses Tells Wike |egstarshowtv  Here is the view of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) about the stand-off between Wike and Yerima in Abuja. "Every soldier has an element of madness...  For while the right thinking man withdraws from danger, a soldier charges towards it GENERAL OO OLUYEDE OFR CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF". The Nigerian Defence Academy does not produce docile officers. The officer's response reflects admirable composure and emotional intelligence-qualities that lie at the heart of military leadership training. His ability to remain calm, firm, and respectful under verbal provocation demonstrates discipline and professionalism. Nevertheless, it is both unfortunate and inappropriate for a federal minister to use such language toward a serving officer of the Armed Forces. Public officials should model civility and restraint, especially when addressing those in uniform who embody nation...

Wike, Military Officer in Heated Clash Over Alleged Land Grabbing in Abuja There was a heated confrontation on Tuesday between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and an unidentified military officer over an alleged land-grabbing incident at the Gaduwa District in Abuja. A video of the altercation, obtained by our correspondent, showed Wike accusing the officer of illegally taking possession of a parcel of land. The man took land because he was the Chief of Naval Staff?” Wike said. The officer, dressed in military camouflage, interrupted the minister, insisting that the acquisition was lawful and that he had acted with integrity. “I am an officer with integrity. The demonstrators, comprising Ramat’s supporters, civil society groups, and rights activists, marched around the parliamentary complex, chanting solidarity songs and waving placards such as “President Tinubu Did Not Send Nominees to be Harassed” and “Ramat Represents Reform in Power Sector.   Again, Abuja Court Halts PDP National Convention Scheduled for Ibadan A Federal High Court has once again stopped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from proceeding with its planned national convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, between November 15 and 16. The court also barred the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from supervising, monitoring, or recognising any outcome from the proposed convention, where new national officers were expected to be elected. Justice Peter Lifu issued the restraining order on Tuesday while ruling on a suit filed by former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido. Lamido had approached the court, alleging that he was unjustly denied the opportunity to purchase the nomination form for the party’s national chairmanship position, effectively excluding him from the process. Justice Lifu held that the order became necessary because the PDP failed to comply with the legal requirements guiding the conduct of such conventions. He noted ...

Christian genocide: PFN, Islamic council in verbal crossfire. The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, on Sunday, dismissed the allegation of Christian genocide in Nigeria, describing it as false, dangerous, and politically motivated. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the NSCIA’s Secretary-General, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede,  accused the Western media and political figures of trumpeting the allegation of Christian genocide as part of an alleged coordinated campaign to destabilise Nigeria. But the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Wale Oke, insisted that, “There is Christian genocide in Nigeria.” “There is no other name to call it. No Christian group is attacking Muslims. Patience of the church is being stretched,” Oke said during a visit to the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, at the weekend. The debate comes in the wake of Nigeria’s designation as a “Country of Particular Concern” by the United States President Donald Trump. In a s...
