Borno Police Raise Alarm Over Rumoured Protest Circulating on Social Media

The Borno State Police Command has raised concerns over information currently circulating on social media about a purported protest in the state.

In a statement released in the early hours of Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Daso, clarified that there is no confirmed report of any planned protest in the state at the moment.

According to the police spokesperson, the command became aware of the circulating information and has taken steps to closely monitor the situation in order to prevent any potential security breach.

“The Borno State Police Command is aware of information circulating on various social media platforms regarding a purported protest,” the statement read.

“At the moment, there is no confirmed report of any planned protest in the state.”

Despite the lack of verified information about a protest, the command assured residents that it remains fully alert and proactive in maintaining peace and security across the state.

ASP Daso further stated that the police have already put necessary security measures in place to ensure the safety of residents and prevent any disruption of public order.

“However, the Command remains vigilant and has put in place necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of all residents,” he added.

The police therefore urged members of the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information online, and cooperate with security agencies in maintaining peace within the state.

Residents are also encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station as authorities continue to monitor developments.
